What It Does

SlackOut is a panel for Premiere Pro (and After Effects) that handles the full export-and-share loop in one place. You configure your export settings once per sequence, and from then on, a single click exports your file, names it correctly, and uploads it to a Slack channel or user. No manual renaming, no dragging files into Slack, no hunting for the export folder.

Key Features

Draft and Final export buttons. The panel has two distinct export buttons, each with its own codec configuration. Draft exports use a lightweight preset for quick feedback rounds; Final exports use a high-quality preset for delivery. The filename automatically gets “[DRAFT]” or “[FINAL]” appended, so clients and collaborators always know what they’re looking at.

Automatic file naming and incrementing. SlackOut names your files consistently and increments them to avoid overwrites, which removes the habit of typing “_v2_FINAL_realfinal” by hand.

Slack upload. The panel connects directly to your Slack workspace and lets you target a specific channel or individual user. You can also have the local file deleted automatically after upload, keeping your export folder clean.

Per-sequence settings memory. Once you configure the panel for a sequence, it remembers everything. Useful on long-running projects where you’re exporting the same sequence repeatedly across multiple sessions.

Go to export folder button. Opens your export destination in Finder or Explorer directly from the panel, which is a small but genuinely time-saving addition during busy review cycles.

Multi-workspace support. You can connect to more than one Slack team from within the panel. Credentials are stored locally in a .slackout.json file and can be cleared at any time by logging out.

Who It’s For

SlackOut is most useful for editors and motion designers who share work-in-progress cuts with clients or internal teams via Slack on a regular basis. If you’re doing multiple rounds of revisions on a project where the feedback loop runs through Slack, the one-click export-and-send workflow saves real time over the manual alternative.

It’s less relevant if your delivery process uses Frame.io, email, or any platform outside Slack.

Pricing

SlackOut is a one-time purchase at $10.00, sold through aescripts.com. A free trial is available before buying.
