What It Does

Sound Prompter analyzes your video clips using a locally running AI model and generates matching sound effects, and optionally music, as .wav files. Apply it as an effect in Premiere Pro or After Effects, point it at a layer or adjustment layer, and the AI figures out what sounds fit the visuals. The generated audio is synced to the video content and saved to disk automatically.

In Premiere Pro, generated files land in <home>/Blace Plugins/Sound Prompter Generated Audio and need to be dragged manually into the timeline. Adding that folder to your Media Browser favorites saves time here.

Key Features

Local AI processing. Everything runs on your machine. No cloud upload, no external service. The AI model loads locally, which means the first generation takes up to a minute, but subsequent iterations with adjusted prompts are faster.

Text prompt control. You guide the AI using positive and negative prompts entered via text masks linked in the effect panel. Want sound effects but no music? Add a negative prompt with “music” to suppress it. This gives you meaningful control over what gets generated.

Works on any footage type. Real-world video, 3D renders, motion design, or AI-generated clips all work as input. The AI reads the visual content rather than relying on metadata.

Flexible layer targeting. Apply the effect to a single layer, a subcomposition, or an adjustment layer covering multiple layers. Using an adjustment layer lets several clips contribute to a single sound generation pass.

.wav output. Generated files are standard .wav format, stored on disk and added directly to your composition in After Effects. They are reusable and portable.

Who It’s For

Most useful for editors and motion designers who regularly work with footage that has no usable production audio, such as 3D renders, AI-generated video, screen recordings, or stock clips. It saves the time of hunting for matching sound effects manually. Also worth considering for quick music bed generation when a rough temp track is needed early in an edit.

Note that the XXL model requires around 18GB of VRAM. Windows users with an NVIDIA GPU of 12GB or more get the best experience. Apple Silicon Macs running macOS Sequoia with 32GB of RAM or more are also supported. Other configurations may work but will be significantly slower.
