What It Does

The 8mm Distress Kit 4K CLASSIC is a collection of 32 video clips scanned directly from vintage 8mm cine film at 3840x2160. You drop them onto your timeline using blending or transfer modes to give footage an organic, analogue film look. No plugins required, no rendering tricks — just real film scanned at high resolution.

Clips range from 1 second to 1 minute 37 seconds and are organized into five folders: Damage (dust, hairs, dots, dirt, scratches, grain, sprocket holes, splotches), Light Leaks (leaks, sweeps, flashes, color washes), Numbers and Text, Grunge, and Transitions.

Key Features

Real film scans, not simulations. Every clip was scanned from actual 8mm film stock. The artifacts are genuine, which is what separates this from digitally generated grain or lens flare plugins.

4K resolution. At 3840x2160, the clips hold up on large formats and can be scaled down for HD or vertical video without quality loss.

Photo JPEG codec at 25fps. Frame rate can be adjusted for use in other project settings. The codec is broadly compatible across NLEs and compositing apps.
