What It Does

The 8mm Distress Kit 4K PREMIUM is a collection of 64 video clips scanned directly from vintage 8mm cine film at 4K resolution (3840 x 2160). You drop them onto your timeline and use composite, blending, or transfer modes to layer the look over your footage. The result is organic film distress that looks authentic because the source material is real film.

Clips are organized into five folders: Damage, Light Leaks, Numbers and Text, Grunge, and Transitions. Lengths range from 1 second to 1 minute 37 seconds, giving you options for quick flashes or extended overlays.

Key Features

Real film scans, not simulations. Every clip was digitized from actual 8mm film stock, which is why the grain, sprocket holes, and dust behave differently from generated effects.

64 clips across five categories. The PREMIUM tier includes all 32 clips from the CLASSIC version plus 32 additional ones. Categories cover light leaks, light sweeps, flashes, damage, dust, hairs, dots, dirt, scratches, grain, sprocket holes, splotches, and grunge.

Works anywhere blending modes work. The clips are plain video files encoded in Photo JPEG at 25fps. Any NLE or motion graphics app that handles 4K footage and blend modes can use them, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and Nuke.
