What It Does
BRAW Studio adds native Blackmagic RAW (.braw) import support to Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects, and Audition. Without it, Premiere Pro cannot natively access the full RAW color parameters from Blackmagic cameras. The plugin uses the official Blackmagic BRAW SDK and Blackmagic Color Science, giving you the same RAW controls available in DaVinci Resolve, directly inside Adobe applications.
A standalone Desktop App is also included, letting you play, color grade, and trim .BRAW files from Windows Explorer or macOS Finder without opening any NLE.
Key Features
Source Settings Panel. The BRAW Studio Panel in Premiere Pro (Window > Extensions) provides access to all RAW parameters for your clips. It also supports batch changes across multiple clips, embedded LUT extraction, and a Toolbox tab for common operations.
White Balance Color Picker. Click a neutral area in your frame to automatically set white balance. Available in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and the Desktop App.
Custom A/B Comparison. Compare two different RAW parameter sets side by side on the same clip. Useful for grading decisions before committing to a look.
20 Global Presets. Store and recall RAW parameter sets across projects and applications. Presets are shared between Premiere Pro, After Effects, and the Desktop App.
Add LUT to Sidecar. Apply a custom LUT and save it to the .braw sidecar file, so it carries over automatically when the file is opened in other supported applications.
Trim Tool. Remove unused frames from a .BRAW file while keeping the original Blackmagic codec and quality intact, reducing file size without re-encoding.
Desktop App. A standalone player and color grader that opens .BRAW files directly from your file browser. Settings saved here are written to the sidecar and automatically applied inside Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.
Broad camera support. Regularly updated to support new cameras, including URSA Cine 12K LF, URSA Cine 17K 65, PYXIS 6K and 12K, and third-party cameras recording BRAW via Blackmagic Video Assist (Panasonic, Fujifilm, Sony, Leica).
Who It’s For
Anyone editing Blackmagic camera footage in Premiere Pro who wants access to the full RAW color pipeline without switching to DaVinci Resolve. Particularly useful for colorists and cinematographers who want to do initial RAW adjustments, set looks, or manage multiple camera files entirely within the Adobe ecosystem.
It also suits editors who need to create proxies or re-encode .BRAW files through Media Encoder while preserving RAW parameters.
