What It Does

The ft-Filmic Contrast Bundle packages three separate color tools into a single purchase for After Effects and Premiere Pro: ft-Filmic Contrast Pro, ft-Technicolor, and ft-Auto White Balance. Each addresses a different stage of the color process, from initial white balance correction through to creative grading.

Key Features

ft-Filmic Contrast Pro. A re-contrasting filter designed to give footage a cinematic quality. Built on an earlier Lite version, the Pro variant adds more controls, additional features, and a faster processing algorithm. Useful for narrative work, short films, or any project where flat log footage needs to feel more finished.

ft-Technicolor. Recreates the color aesthetic from Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator, specifically the look of 2-strip and 3-strip Technicolor film processes. The implementation draws from VFXTalk research, Blender source code, and behind-the-scenes documentation from the film’s VFX work. A niche but specific tool for editors going after a period or archival aesthetic.

ft-Auto White Balance. Corrects white balance by sampling a midtone area of the image. Practical for batch-correcting footage where white balance was set inconsistently on set. Two correction methods are available: Von Kries and Scale RGB, giving you some control over how the adjustment is calculated.

The bundle also includes Multi-Frame Rendering support and native Apple Silicon compatibility as of version 1.0.

Who It’s For

Editors working on narrative or cinematic projects who want a quick route to filmic contrast and vintage color looks without building everything from scratch in Lumetri. The white balance tool is particularly handy when you’re handed a batch of poorly balanced footage that needs to be cleaned up before any creative grading begins.

Pricing

The bundle is priced at $49.99 for a single-user license. Floating server and render-only license types are also available. A free trial can be downloaded from aescripts.com before purchasing.
