What It Does
Stop Motion Convert takes a continuous video recording and turns it into a finished stop-motion animation automatically. Instead of scrubbing through footage to find the right frames and stitching them together by hand, the extension analyzes motion in the clip and picks the frames for you.
The workflow is straightforward: mount your camera on a tripod, record continuously while moving objects between shots, and let the extension do the rest. The algorithm looks for moments of stillness to identify usable frames, so your footage needs brief pauses between movements to work correctly.
Key Features
Automatic frame detection. The extension reads motion data across the clip and selects frames where subjects are stationary, which are the frames that make stop-motion look clean. No manual in/out point setting required.
One-step sequence assembly. After frame selection, the extension outputs a complete, edit-ready sequence in Premiere Pro without any additional stitching.
Wide version compatibility. Works with Premiere Pro CC 2019 through 2025.
Free trial available. You can download a trial before buying to verify it works with your footage.
Who It’s For
Useful for content creators, educators, and commercial editors who need to produce stop-motion clips without a dedicated stop-motion capture app. If you’re already shooting in Premiere Pro’s ecosystem and want to avoid manual frame selection, this covers that gap. It won’t replace dedicated stop-motion capture software, but it handles the post-production side of footage you’ve already recorded.
