What It Does

Duplicating a sequence in Premiere Pro is not straightforward. If you copy a sequence that contains nested sequences, Premiere shares those nested items between the original and the copy rather than creating independent versions. Fixing that manually means replacing each nested item one by one.

Duplicate It! solves this by generating true clones. Select the active or a chosen sequence, and the extension creates independent copies of every nested item automatically, places everything in a new bin, and lets you control how the copies are named and labeled.

Key Features

True sequence duplication. Every nested item in the sequence receives its own unique copy, so editing a duplicate does not affect the original.

Bin creation with custom labels. Duplicated items land in a new bin you can assign a custom label color to, keeping your project panel organized.

Flexible renaming. You can add a prefix or suffix, run a search-and-replace across item names, and include the current date or time in the name. Numbering options let you set a starting number, enable leading zeros, and add an underscore separator.

Batch copies. Set how many copies you want in one pass rather than repeating the process manually.

Search-scoped changes. Label color changes and naming rules can be applied only to items matching a search term, leaving everything else untouched.

Who It’s For

Anyone who works with versioned edits will find this useful. Common use cases include creating alternate cuts of the same sequence, building language or format variants from a master edit, and safely experimenting with a timeline without touching the original. Editors managing multi-version projects will get the most out of the batch copy and renaming tools.

Note: the developer flags a compatibility issue on MacBook Pro 2013 and earlier. A free trial is available, so it is worth testing on older Mac hardware before purchasing.

Pricing

Duplicate It! is a one-time purchase at $24.99 for a single-user license. A floating server license is also available. A free trial can be downloaded from the product page.
