What It Does

PowerSearch is a panel-based search tool from Digital Anarchy that indexes your entire Premiere Pro project and lets you locate specific words across clips, sequences, markers, and caption files. Search results link directly to the exact timestamp in your footage, so if you know a subject said something but can’t remember which clip it’s in, you can find it in seconds.

It works across transcripts imported from services including Adobe Speech-to-Text (Sensei), Transcriptive Rough Cutter, SimonSays, Trint, and SpeedScriber. As long as the transcript was imported into Premiere as an SRT, PowerSearch can index and search it.

Key Features

Multi-SRT search. Unlike Premiere’s native Text Panel, which is limited to searching one SRT at a time, PowerSearch indexes all caption files in your project simultaneously.

Quoted search. Wrap terms in quotes for exact-phrase matching, reducing irrelevant results when searching common words.

Premiere Productions support. Index individual projects within a Productions setup and switch between them using dedicated project-switching buttons on both screens.

Instant database loading. Once a project is indexed, the database loads without needing to re-index. Renaming a project no longer forces a full re-index.

Transcript service integration. Compatible with most major transcription workflows. Any SRT imported into Premiere becomes searchable, regardless of which service generated it.

Who It’s For

PowerSearch is best suited for editors working on interview-heavy content, documentaries, or any project where dialogue drives the edit. If you’re regularly hunting through hours of footage to find a specific line, or managing large projects with multiple transcripts, it addresses a real gap in Premiere’s native search capabilities.

It’s also useful on longer commercial or corporate projects where markers and metadata need to be quickly retrievable across a sprawling bin structure.

Pricing

PowerSearch 3 is a one-time purchase at $99.00 for a single user license. A free trial is available for both macOS and Windows.
