What It Does

Parallel is a Premiere Pro extension that places clips selected in the Project Panel into your active sequence using timecode alignment. Rather than manually dragging clips to matching positions, you pick a sync method and let the extension handle placement. If a clip lands on an occupied track, Parallel automatically bumps it to the track above.

This is particularly useful for multi-camera or multi-source projects where footage shares a common timecode, or for stacking selects that need to line up by In/Out points.

Key Features

Sequence Timecode. Inserts each clip at the sequence position matching its own embedded timecode. Useful when all cameras were jam-synced or share a continuous timecode stream.

Selected Clips Timecode. Matches the insertion point to clips already selected in the sequence timeline. Select the reference clip on a track, then insert Project Panel items at the same timecode position.

Project Items In-Point. Stacks clips based on their marked In Point. When an Offset value is set, each successive clip is stair-stepped by that interval, handy for building layered arrangements from a batch of selects.

Project Items Out-Point. Same stair-step behavior as the In-Point method, but aligns to each clip’s Out Point instead.

Project Items Timecode. Aligns the embedded timecode of each Project Panel clip to a matching position in the sequence. The Offset value here acts as an absolute timecode in-point for the stack.

Offset Control. Methods 1 through 4 accept an Offset value to shift insertion timing. Negative values work by prefixing a minus sign. Double-clicking the Offset field resets it to zero.

Insert Type. Choose to insert video only, audio only, or both. Audio reflects the clip’s channel settings; source patch assignments are not carried over.

Confirm Before Insert. A settings toggle lets you require a confirmation dialog before any insert happens, useful when working on complex timelines where an accidental insert would be disruptive.

Who It’s For

Editors working with multi-source footage that shares timecode will get the most out of Parallel. It also suits anyone assembling selects into a stacked comp, documentary editors lining up interview angles, or anyone who finds themselves repeatedly searching for the right frame to drop a clip.
