SkyBox 360/VR Transitions Pack 1

What It Does

SkyBox 360/VR Transitions Pack 1 by Mettle adds four purpose-built transition effects for editing stitched 360° footage in Premiere Pro. Standard cuts and dissolves can feel abrupt in VR playback, and generic transitions distort equirectangular footage. These transitions are designed specifically for that format, working correctly with both mono 2:1 and stereo 1:1 over-under clips.

Note: this plugin is no longer available for purchase. Adobe acquired the Mettle SkyBox suite and integrated its functionality into Premiere Pro CC 2018 and later as part of the Creative Cloud membership. If you are on a current CC subscription, equivalent VR transition tools are already included.

Key Features

Mobius Zoom. Transitions between clips using a zooming warp effect. You can adjust the point of interest within the equirectangular frame, control zoom in and zoom out levels independently, and feather the transition edges.

Gradient Wipe. Imports a custom equirectangular image to drive the wipe shape. The transition can be rotated on X, Y, and Z axes, inverted, and feathered.

Random Blocks. Breaks the cut into randomized rectangular blocks. Block width, height, size deviation, and random seed are all adjustable, along with axis rotation and edge feathering.

Iris Wipe. A circular iris-style transition originating from a selectable point of interest in the 360 frame, with feather control.

All four transitions install directly into Video Transitions > Mettle 360/VR in Premiere Pro and apply via drag and drop to the cut point between clips.
