What It Does
Version Raptor handles version numbering for your Premiere Pro sequences and After Effects comps. Instead of manually renaming files or risking overwrites, it detects whatever version number you already use in a name, increments it, and duplicates the item so the previous version stays intact. It works with your own naming conventions, not a fixed format.
Examples of what it handles:
project-v01becomesproject-v02comp_0001becomescomp_0002sequence_v01_JTbecomessequence_v02_JT
Key Features
Smart Version Up. One click increments the last number set in a project, comp, or sequence name. The original is preserved through duplication, so you can always roll back.
Add Version. If a sequence or comp has no version number yet, this appends one to the name so you can start tracking from there.
Safe Versioning. The version up button disables itself when Version Raptor detects a newer version of the project file already exists. This prevents you from accidentally overwriting a more recent save.
Save Reminders. If you have not saved within a set time window, Version Raptor warns you. The hour threshold is adjustable to match how you work.
Who It’s For
Anyone who manages multiple revisions of a project in Premiere Pro or After Effects. Particularly useful for editors and motion designers working with client feedback rounds, where keeping a clear, navigable version trail matters. Also a practical safety net for solo editors who sometimes forget to save.
Pricing
Version Raptor is pay-what-you-want. Individual users can set their own price, including zero. Teams and businesses are expected to pay the suggested amount for a valid license. It is a one-time purchase with no subscription.
